History of Delhi Metro
First first page of Delhi metro was started in 2002, when first corridor of Red line open between Shahdara and tis Hazari. From 2000 to now Delhi Metro has developed more than 400 km network in which 12 active lines and more than 250 metro stations.
Important Metro station and their Routes
1. Red Line
This route starts from Rithala and Ends at Shahid Sthal Ghaziabad .
Important stations: Rithala, Rohini West, Kashmere Gate, Shahdara, Dilshad Garden, New Bus Adda.
2. Yellow Line
This lines starts from Samaypur Badli to HUDA City Centre Gurgaon.
This line is important and useful for Delhi University students .
Important stations: Civil Lines, Rajiv Chowk, Central Secretariat, INA, Saket, HUDA City Centre.
3. Blue Line
This line starts from Dwarka Sector 21 to Vaishali/Noida City Centre . This is longest and busy route of Delhi metro.
Important stations: Dwarka, Rajouri Garden, Karol Bagh, Rajiv Chowk, Mayur Vihar, Noida Sector 15, Vaishali.
4. Violet Line
This starts from Kashmere Gate to Raja Nahar Singh (Ballabhgarh) . This line connects Old Delhi to Faridabad.
Important stations: Kashmere Gate, Mandi House, Lajpat Nagar, Nehru Place, Badarpur, Ballabhgarh.
5. Magenta Line:
This line starts Janakpuri West to Botanical Garden (Noida) .
This line provide direct connectivity from Delhi airport Terminal 1 .
Important stations: Janakpuri West, Dabri Mor, IGI Airport T1, Hauz Khas, Kalkaji Mandir, Botanical Garden.
6. Pink Line:
This line starts from Majlis Park to Shiv Vihar tak.
This longest ring-like line and has maximum interchange stations.
Important stations: Netaji Subhash Place, Azadpur, INA, Lajpat Nagar, Mayur Vihar.
